Sri Sathya Sai compares the Two Types of Companies

There are two types of companies in the world. One type of company is the factory which functions at a mundane level. The other type is the ‘Company of God’. In the former, there is unemployment and often, the salary given does not depend upon the proportion of work done. But in the Company of God, there is no unemployment. Every person in this world is an employee of that Company. The salary that is paid is in direct proportion to the work done. Each person receives only to the extent to which he deserves.

When Sage Bharadwaj wanted to construct a temple at a spot on the banks of river Swarnamukhi, he invited volunteers for the job. After a sufficient work force had assembled, the construction job was started on an auspicious day. At the end of the day’s work, Sage Bharadwaj used to take the workers to the riverbed and used to give them a handful of sand. When the workers sorted out the sand, they used to find gold in proportion to the work done by them. There was no unfair practice in this. One should not pretend before God. If one pretends as if one has done some work, God also pretends as if He responds to us. God is like an untainted mirror who reflects all our feelings back to us.
