When Sri Sathya Sai Blessed victory for India in the 1971 War

Swami blessed the Chief of Naval Force,
Admiral Nanda and his wife with an interview at Whitefield on the 4th of July, 1971. He materialised Vibhuti and gifts for them. Swami told Nanda, “You will soon attain fame, and people will praise you”. This information was published in the July 1971 issue of Sathya Sai Samachar circulated from Calcutta. The Bangladesh War (then known as East Pakistan) hadn’t broken prior to Swami’s mention. The hostilities began only in November 1971.

The way the Indian Navy dominated over Pakistan both in the Bay of Bengal and at the Arabian Sea now became widely acclaimed international news. The expert strategy of Admiral Nanda was instrumental in sinking more than a 100 enemy vessels. Admiral Nanda was lauded by the entire nation. In recognition of such outstanding service, he was conferred the ‘Padma Vibhushan’ (the second highest civilian award) by the Govt. of India in 1972 as the crest jewel among many more awards, proving true Swami’s earlier prediction.
