When the President and First Lady of Kazakhstan came to Puttaparthi to see Sri Sathya Sai...

February 14, 2002 (Thursday)

Swami came out at 3.45 pm, after finishing the interviews. Coming towards Prof. Anil Kumar…

Swami : Emi Samacharamu? (What news?) This morning, the President and First Lady of Kazakhstan came here along with their children.

Prof. A. K. : Yes Swami, I heard that a plane came today to Prashanti Nilayam.

Swami : They came along with their secretaries and other people. I gave them interview for one and half hours. They are very devoted. They came directly from the airport to the Mandir. I asked them if they would like to have tea or coffee. They replied that they didn’t drink either. So I gave them juice. I asked them as to which God they worshipped. They told that they were communists previously, and now they worship Sai Baba. As he was telling this, the person showed My photograph from his pocket.
I told Chakravathi and Chiranjeevi Rao to arrange for their stay, so that they could get ready and go back. The King and Queen told that they came here only for Swami, and nothing else.

Prof. A. K. : Swami, they would not have seen the Museum and other places.

Swami : They have a meeting with Karnataka Chief Minister today, so they went back directly.

Swami then told about the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations in Kazakhstan to the teachers seated there.

Kazakhstan

Swami : They are setting up a school there. They want Me to come and inaugurate the school. They told that they would take Me in an aeroplane. They wanted to come here before, but could not. They are helping Afghanistan by sending food and clothing. They are doing good work.

Prof. A. K. : Yes, Swami.

Swami : They asked Me to increase My security. But I said that I didn’t need any security. (Swami then noticed a few boys holding heart shaped letters hanging from a small tree. Swami then called them and said,) All this is not needed. I know. He then read a poem written in the card, the ending line of which was, “Maa Kistam” (we like). Swami then remarked…

Swami : What is this, Maa Kistam (we like). This is not correct. It means Kashtam (difficulty). You should not write like this. (Reading some of the letters…) Very nice. Very good. (When a boy gave a pen for Swami to sign) I will sign after you correct it. (Swami then called the birthday boys. Seeing five of them) Pancha Pandavas?! (Smiling) (When they asked for Prasadam) Why Prasadam?

Swami then materialised Prasadam and gave them.
