When Sri Sathya Sai guided a British Officer...

Monday, October 20, 1947

The District Collector of Anantapur, a British officer, arrived along with an Indian Officer to meet Baba on the 20th of October. They came in order to submit at Baba’s feet a problem, for they had heard from some villagers that Baba could help them. The Indian officer introduced the Anantapur Collector to Sri Seshagiri Rao. Baba emerged half an hour later and said, “How unfortunate! They have killed a tigeress which had two one-month-old cubs. First ask them to hand the cubs over at the Bangalore zoo.” The Indian Officer translated Baba’s words for the Collector.

Immediately the Collector stood up, saluted Baba, and accepted His command. He explained to Baba that his jeep was not moving. Baba waved His hand and materialised Vibhuti. He told the Collector that the vehicle would move after the sacred ash was sprinkled on it. Later, the tiger cubs were deposited at the Bangalore Zoo. The skin of the dead tiger was tanned and presented to Baba.
