Proceedings of the Summer Course in Indian Culture and Spirituality 2016 - Day 03

The day’s proceedings began with invocatory Vedic chants by Doctoral Research Scholars from the Men’s campuses of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning.

This was followed by a panel discussion on the topic ‘Love All, Serve All’. The members of the panel were Sri. C Rommel, IFS (Retd.), Sri H J Bhagia, Visiting Faculty, Dept. of Management & Commerce, Prasanthi Nilayam campus, Dr. (Ms.) M R Geetha Bala, Associate Professor, Dept. of Economics, Anantapur Campus and the Moderator was Sri Sanjay Sahni, Controller of Examinations, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning.

The panelists expressed their individual opinion on the topic of discussion and came up with wonderful insights which were thought provoking as well as inspiring. One of the panel members came up with a wonderful depiction of what is love. He explained that Love is Selflessness, Changeless and Fearless. 

These were verily the characteristics of Bhagavan:

Selfless: Sai has come only to give, never to receive
Changeless:  Sai will always keep up His promise towards His devotees, despite their forgetfulness.
Fearless: Sai has not to come to destroy the wicked, but to transform them with Love.
After the panel discussion the staff and students of Sathya Sai Mirpuri College of Music, Prasanthi Nilayam offered a music programme entitled ‘BHava, RAaga, TAala – An Appreciation of Indian Classical Music’.

After this soulful renditions the students of Sri Sathya Sai Gurukulam, Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School (Girls) and Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Prasanthi Nilayam Campus offered their presentations to Bhagawan. Their presentations were based on Sri Adi Shankaracharya's  Bhajagovindam.

This was followed by felicitation of Sri Pala, Chief Finance Officer, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning and introduction of new faculty members.

Next was the valedictory address by Dr. Gowrishankar R, Head, Dept. of Physics, Prasanthi Nilayam campus. The Summer Course in Indian Culture and Spirituality for this year came successfully culminated after offering Mangala Aarti to Bhagavan.
